Occupy LSX: Eviction imminent
The Occupy London Stock Exchange camp near St Paul’s Cathedral is expected to be evicted very soon, possibly as early as today. This follows a ruling today in the Court of Appeal.
A number of people are preparing to join a ring of prayer at the camp when the eviction goes ahead.
If you would like to join, please send us your email address and/or mobile phone number (christiansagainstcuts@gmail.com), so we can email or phone you as soon as we have news that the eviction is about to happen. There may be very little notice, especially if the eviction takes place at night. We hope that if you can’t make it, you will be able to pray at home.
The City of London Corporation have refused to rule out a nighttime eviction. It seems that they have no shame in attempting to deter media coverage by carrying out their violence in darkness. In reality, both the light and the media interest are likely to be sufficient to ensure that the public see the truth.
If you cannot join the ring of prayer in person, but would like to pray at home during the eviction, you are still welcome to send us your details. We will try to keep this website very up-to-date as eviction goes ahead, though this may be difficult as things may move very fast and many of us will be joining the ring of prayer.
I will be praying throughout today and until the eviction takes place. May God’s love be honoured!
